Colorado Avalanche announce season theme nights
As each team does during their regular seasons, theme nights will be early and often this season for the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche recently tweeted out their theme night schedule on X, and without further ado, these are the dates to get an opportunity to see the Avalanche with a little twist during the 2024-2025 NHL season.
The fun starts in October with the home opener on Oct 12 against Eastern Conference foe the Columbus Blue Jackets. October 18 brings another theme night, Military Appreciation Night against the Anaheim Ducks.
There are two more theme nights in November. The first, Hockey Fights Cancer night, on November 9th, is a home game against Metro division power Carolina. Deadheads will rejoice as the Avalanche take on the LA Kings on November 13th for Grateful Dead Night. That should be a fun time.
There is only one theme night in each of the next three months. Avalanche fans will celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Avalanche on December 31st as the burgundy and blue take on a division rival, the Winnipeg Jets. Hopefully the momentum from the playoffs will continue and Avs fans can celebrate the New Year on a high note with a victory!
January will see “Next Generation Night” as the Avs host the Montreal Canadiens. Pride Night happens February 26th against the New Jersey Devils.
With March arriving, the Avalanche will celebrate two themed nights. First up is Girls hockey night. That is scheduled for March 6th against the San Jose Sharks. A few weeks later, March 27 to be exact, will be Colorado hockey night. The Avalanche will play host to the LA Kings again that night.
The final theme night of the season also comes on the final home game of the season on April 10th. The Avalanche celebrate fan appreciation that night and play host to the Vancouver Canucks.
Themed nights usually bring about conversations and sell tickets, both likely to the benefit of the Colorado Avalanche this season. They won’t need theme nights to sell out the arena, as their exciting style of play will speak for itself, but theme nights provide opportunities for casual or new hockey fans to experience the game and the team, and the NHL will never say no to that.
