MacKenzie Blackwood was equal to task for Colorado Avalanche

We talked about how good Connor Hellebuyck was, but MacKenzie Blackwood was equal to the task. Honestly, the game was a goaltender’s duel that, unfortunately, Blackwood came out on the wrong end of.

Blackwood was sensational in the game, keeping the Avs alive, especially as the club tried to tie the game in the third period.

It’s worth pointing out that the Jets are a good hockey team. They have a good club despite overly relying on Hellebuyck. That’s what made Blackwood’s performance all that more impressive. Blackwood kept the Avs in the game, showing off why he was the right choice for Colorado.

Ultimately, as Makar stated after the game, it was “one unlucky goal” that made the difference on Wednesday night.

As much as fans hate the loss, there’s no reason to panic. The Avalanche are a very good club. They took the division leader to the wire. They held up all the way down to the end. It’s tough that such things happen in hockey. Often losses come in extremely frustrating circumstances.

The main takeaway boils down to the Avs playing a great game from start to finish. They didn’t struggle to beat San Jose or Chicago. They played the best team this season and took them to a close finish. The Jets got the lucky goal and that’s the end of it.

The Colorado Avalanche will have a chance to get back on track on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Boston Bruins. The Bruins are a good club despite struggling of late. The game should be an interesting one, to say the least.
