Avalanche Hometown Remix jersey drops, fails to impress
The NHL and the Colorado Avalanche officially unveiled the club’s Hometown Remix jerseys on Monday morning.
Now, it’s worth noting that the design wasn’t much of a secret for Avalanche fans. A leaked version of the design hit social media last week, with a bizarre version pinning the captain’s C on a #29 Nathan MacKinnon jersey.
Well, whoever was responsible for that must have gotten the message. The official team release had none other than #92 Gabriel Landeskog, rightfully modeling the new threads.
Our state. Our team. Just remixed 💿

The design harkens back to the blue division rival design. However, the all-white with silvery and light blue tones don’t really stand out as much as they should. While the jersey looks a heck of a lot better in the action photos of Landeskog, the bottom line is that the design lacks the overall punch that some of the other teams have shown.
Sure, the jersey is nice. But something like the Yeti foot would have resonated much more than the pared-down C logo.
The NHL.com website offered this insight into why the design is the way it is.
“Is there anything as striking as the view of the snow-covered Rocky Mountains? Rhetorical question. If you’re from Colorado, of course not. And it’s woven into this Hometown Remix jersey, in magnificent detail. The mountain elevation pattern in graduating shades of blue is featured on the front crest and numbers on the back. The sleeves also feature Rocky Mountain detail on the shoulders. The striking blue and white jersey is set off by metallic silver on the sleeves with additional silver detailing around the logos, giving the jersey a frosted, glistening look. There’s a freshness to this jersey that evokes crisp mountain air and new snow vibes. Colorado, if you’re proud of your elevated place in the world, this one’s for you.”
Well, you do have to admit that the jersey does look like fresh snow just landed, but perhaps a touch of the classic burgundy would have spiced up what is otherwise a very nice-looking jersey.
Avalanche to debut Hometown Remix jerseys on November 7
As for when the Avalanche will officially debut their Hometown Remix jerseys, the club announced that the November 7th home game against the Detroit Red Wings will mark the first time the new threads hit the ice.

In total, the Avalanche will don the jersey six times, with the November 27 contest being the only road game in which the club will feature the new look.
As for how well the jersey will go down with Avalanche fans, well, let’s just say that fans haven’t been overly impressed.
