The Colorado Avalanche have returned from a four game road trip with four points in the bag. We look at the best social media posts over the past week.
The Colorado Avalanche road trip started in Detroit and some of the players talked about their early memories of the rivalry between the Avalanche and the Red Wings.

Things got a little feisty towards the end of the Red Wings game, resulting in Tyler Bertuzzi receiving a two game suspension for hitting Matt Calvert from the bench. Ian Cole retaliated swiftly for the attack on Calvert and it was hard for the media team to stay impartial.
GET HIM, COLESY 💪#GoAvsGo

Ian Cole sat down with Kyle Keefe the next day to talk about fighting.

It’s nice to see the two goalies showing each other some love.
It’s always fun to see the team having a bit of fun behind the scenes. Mikko Rantanen still leads the league in points and assists, but that won’t stop him trying to pull a silly face for the camera (even if it’s actually a video).
Nope, not a photo, Mikko 🤣#GoAvsGo https://t.co/mD7JAEw9SK
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) December 4, 2018
Gabriel Landeskog and Erik Johnson paused for a quick photo, that was also actually a video.
Again, not a photo...

(But worth it because Gabe looks SO CONTENT.) #BestFriends #GoAvsGo https://t.co/6kPNps7mHY
The latest episode of the Avs podcast dropped prior to the game in Pittsburgh, with Conor McGahey standing in for Lauren Gardener. It’s definitely an interesting listen. They break down the play, talk about where improvements can be made, and have a discussion about the differences in the size of crew that the Avs and the Broncos take on the road with them.

Tyson Barrie returned to the lineup after missing four games due to injury. This is an absolutely stunning photo.

There was a small incident during warm-ups in Florida, and Gabe and Mikko had to pay penance.
When you collide during warm-ups, you have to do push-ups.

We don’t make the rules! #GoAvsGo https://t.co/RhmdfiQIvJ
Weird goals still count, and that’s all that matters. I love the little aside comments on the play like this.
This goal was WEIRD.
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) December 7, 2018
Still counts, though! #GoAvsGo https://t.co/KPvnQOX03l
It’s a well known fact that hockey players are superstitious. Evidently that goes for the media team as well. I’m definitely on board with this being something that always happens.
Since he did it today and we won...

Retweet this if you think Erik Johnson has to get off the bus backwards every game from now on!#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/xEZpz8J9j0
Tyson Barrie accidently hit Gabriel Landeskog with the puck during the game in Florida. Gabe had a few thoughts (and a smile) to share.
Ya better watch out, Tys...

🤣🤣🤣 #GoAvsGo https://t.co/vDJV2BOoeS
There was much discussion over who was to blame for the collision during warm-ups. The only way to settle the matter once and for all is by Twitter poll, of course.
OKAY, EVERYONE.
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) December 7, 2018
We need your help: whose fault was the pregame collision?#GoAvsGo
Several players weighed in with their opinion.

It’s obvious it’s Mikko’s fault https://t.co/z5oc74JV2O

Meanwhile Ian Cole was only concerned that the incorrect number of penalty push-ups had been done.
Still only counted 8 push ups...

The debate continued through to practice in Tampa the next day
Definitely still debating the collision...

“Gabe manipulated the vote!”#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/rDDnUAfT0H
It transpires that the Twitter poll was EJ’s idea. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
It was EJ’s idea!
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) December 7, 2018
Tyson Barrie really is very photogenic.
Time for practice in Tampa! #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/5DJrB7JHit
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) December 7, 2018
Sadly EJ’s bus superstition didn’t last long. Since the team lost in Tampa maybe he’ll rethink this decision and go back to getting off the bus backwards.
We’ll take this as: EJ is confident enough to get off the bus facing forward.

A review of the road trip now that the team is back in Denver.

The team have a mixed week ahead of them. Starting at home before heading back on the road for a game before returning home again. We’ll be back next week to look at the best social media posts.
