The Colorado Avalanche informally cataloged forward Sven Andrighetto’s season last year through their tweets. Here are the best tweets about ‘Ghetto.

Colorado Avalanche forward Sven Andrighetto did not have the year he was hoping for, mostly because of injury. He got injured when he slid awkwardly into the boards on New Year’s Eve, and he missed all the way until March 8, a total of 27 games.

In all, Andrighetto only played 50 games for the Avalanche. He earned 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) in that time. I’m sure everyone involved would have liked to see all those numbers higher.

In any case, Sven Andrighetto did contribute, especially in the playoffs. Not only did he get into a tango with Ryan Hartman:

Andrighetto also scored the game-winning goal from Game 5 in Nashville:

Alas, that goal was also the last of the Colorado Avalanche’s 2017-18 season as they were shut out in Game 6 at home.

In any case, as I noted in a previous post, the Avs’ social media team killed it last season. They started out strong with player introductions. Here’s Andrighetto’s:

Throughout the season, Andrighetto did distinguish himself. In fact, even when he was out with his injury, he was involved in the team outreach to the community:

He also participated in the Colorado Avalanche Charity Brunch:

He really hit it off with the girl, Lillian, the team paired him with:

He seemed to really make an impact on her and her family:

Andrighetto also made an impact on the ice. Here’s a beautiful goal he scored against the Chicago Blackhawks after making it back from injury:

As well as during interviews between periods. Sven the impatient one:

And he looks like he’s giving a wicked side eye to those self-same Canadiens, who traded him. Well, maybe being a smart ass rather than an impact person is a better description.

Sven Andrighetto also made an impression outside of Avs Nation:

And the We Rate NHL account didn’t even look into Sven’s suit game:

Strangely, Andrighetto is wearing socks in each of these pictures, but I’m pretty sure those are the only days he wore socks.

Here’s another example of Andrighetto making connections with people outside the Avs fandom.

When players go to the penalty box, they’re often grumpy. They don’t often pay attention to fans around the box, especially when they’re in someone else’s arena. Well, Sven Andrighetto could resist this young Lightning fan:

That’s a cute little wave.

Alas, the Colorado Avalanche’s season ended after the first round of playoffs. However, that did give Andrighetto the chance to represent Switzerland in IIHF Worlds. He scored this beautiful shutout goal:

Sven also helped Switzerland earn the silver medal:

But, in the end, we’re all going to remember one moment in particular for Sven Andrighetto:

Sven Andrighetto just completed one year of a two-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche. I’m sure we’re all hoping he stays healthy this season. When he’s on his game, he definitely contributes. But, as we see with these tweets, he contributes both on and off the ice no matter what.
