Colorado Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie got the chance to brush up on his acting skills as he participated in Paul Bissonnette’s series.
Colorado Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie is playing golf, just like the rest of the Avs players and 27 teams’ worth of NHLers. (Except the ones who are in Denmark representing their countries at IIHF Worlds.)
However, Barrie took time away from his busy golfing (and presumably training) schedule to make a mockumentary with one-time Arizona Coyotes enforcer Paul Bissonnette. Bissonnette — more colloquially known as BizNasty — has been filming a series called BizNasty Does B.C. (If I have to explain the reference to you… never mind.)
Ostensibly the mockumentary is supposed to show off the beauty of British Columbia, which is Barrie’s hometown. However, being a mockumentary, it’s more about showing off Bissonnette’s creativity and, especially, his sense of humor.
Barrie took part in Episode 4. In the episode, he and Matt Irwin of the Nashville Predators, along with an alumnus of the local BCHL team, are golfing on Victoria Island. They start chirping BizNasty about his driving skills — literal driving, not golf driving or driving the net.
When word gets back to Bissonnette, he calls Barrie out for a drive-off. After a heated exchange, the two get into some fancy cars — I think they’re BMWs — to race. Anyway, it’s clearly a way to give publicity to the local business where you can race expensive sports cars.
I’m not going to give away the results of the race. However, as I was watching the video, I kept thinking that Nathan MacKinnon might have a run for his money in the acting department.
Judge for yourself:
My personal favorite part was Barrie’s throat slash and the news anchor making the side-joke, “He’ll be hearing from the league about that one.”
Besides the funniness of seeing our rover trying to act like a tough guy against an actual, you know, tough guy (58 NHL fights including a 19-fight season!), there are some truly beautiful panoramic shots of the area.

BizNasty does B.C. is a five-part series. It’s been airing on Barstool Sports. However, you can also catch it on Youtube, as you see above.
