While you’re at Colorado Avalanche games supporting the team and fellow fans, look around for some of the best concessions. Below are some of my recommendations.

You don’t go to Colorado Avalanche games for the food. However, eating and drinking are definitely part of your in-game experience.

The Pepsi Center offers a wide array of concession stands. Unfortunately, most of them are pretty basic. However, I can recommend the loaded tater tots and the bacon mac-n-cheese bites. Both of these are located at concessions stands right at the top of the grand escalator.

For drinks, naturally you can get Pepsi products at any stand. While it’s not a budget-friendly option, I recommend getting your beverage in a collector’s cup, which comes with player images on it.

Colorado is a beer-lover’s paradise, and you can find a large array of beers in the Pepsi Center. The main choices are Coors products, but there’s Wiser’s Whiskey on the main level and the Land Rover Denver Club at club level. Both of these offer full bars. These feature beers from Colorado breweries such as Avery Brewing , Great Divide Brewery, Left Hand Brewery, New Belgium Brewing and Tivoli Brewery.

Some other notable alcoholic drink options are margaritas, vodka-lemonade and hard cider cocktails. The Colorado Avalanche aren’t going to be that good this year, so it’s probably a good idea to mark out your favorites ahead of time.

The Pepsi Center offers a brewery on the main level that opens up to the outside. The name of this brewery changes every year. As of right now, it’s listed on the website as the Breckenridge Brewery Mountain House. Previously it was the Shocktop Lounge.

Anyway, the brewery opens up 1 1/2 hours before Avalanche games and for about one hour after. In addition to enjoying alcoholic beverages, you can order food. I’m partial to their potato chip nachos and their burgers.

The very best dining is at club level. There you find some higher end concession stands — think pulled pork nachos and boozy milkshakes — and the Peak Pub House.

I highly recommend the Peak Pub House. They craft fine food that would be at home at any nice restaurant in LoDo. Entree items include steak. lemon and garlic chicken, upscale sandwiches and something called junk nachos which feature pot roast, gravy, and several cheeses. I have never tried junk nachos, but I would like to.

I have enjoyed the Peak Pub House’s pregame buffet. In addition to delicious entrees, the buffet offers numerous vegetable options as well as a charcuterie and cheese board. The restaurant opens 1 1/2 hours before Colorado Avalanche games.

Technically the concessions and restaurants at club level are only open to fans sitting at club level. However, you can make a reservation for the Peak Pub House, and security will allow you to go to the restaurant. I recommend getting the earliest reservation so you can enjoy your meal and still catch Colorado Avalanche warm ups.

Like I said, the food options aren’t your reason for going to Colorado Avalanche games. However, whether you go to support the team or fellow Avs fans, I do hope you make a showing. When you do, enjoy some of the above concessions.
