5 Ugliest NHL Uniforms

#2: LA Kings, 3rd Jersey

What I said about complementary colors being ugly for uniforms holds true for the LA Kings. There should not be purple striping on a bright yellow jersey. The players should not be forced to wear purple pants. For Roy’s sake, who wears purple pants? Who wears purple pants and then matches them to the gloves?! That’s like some deranged version of the convention that your belt and shoes should match.

To make matters worse, that logo is silly looking. I get the team is the LA Kings, and kings wear crowns. Whomever designed this jersey, though, selected the least-tough crown available. There are no edges anywhere — because, you know, this is hockey. Instead, the crown looks like it would be well-placed at a toddler’s princess party.

The LA Kings also get a double-whammy because this happened:

Everyone wants to go to work in their pajamas. The LA Kings made that desire a reality.
