The Colorado Avalanche are only two seasons removed from their incredible run to the Stanley Cup. While last season didn’t go as planned, one that involved a First Round exit from the NHL Playoffs, they will look to reclaim the Cup after watching the Vegas Golden Knights take it in 2023.
If you’re a fan of the Avalanche, or if you are someone hoping to follow the Avs on their quest to win a second Stanley Cup in three seasons, keep reading to learn all about their First Round opponent and how you can watch the entire series.
Who will the Colorado Avalanche face in Round 1 of the NHL Playoffs?
Colorado will play one of their more heated rivals lately, the Winnipeg Jets. Here, you have the league’s second-highest-scoring team going up against arguably the NHL’s best defensive team, which will make this a classic Great Offense vs. Great Defense matchup.
Unfortunately for the Avs, they won’t have an easy time in this one, as Winnipeg is 3-0-0 against them this season. Even worse, the Avalanche put up just four goals in their three-game series vs. Winnipeg and allowed 17. But the good news is, anything can happen when a chance to ultimately represent their conference for the Stanley Cup is on the line.

What to watch for when the Avalanche face off with their division rival
This one is all about whether Colorado will finally figure out the Jets goaltending. If they can, look for the Avs to score more than the four measly goals they put up in their ill-fated season series. A lot of pressure will also be on goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to prove he can be more consistent in the playoffs than he was in the regular season.
