A look at the 2024-25 Colorado Avalanche schedule

After a ferocious day of deals for free agent frenzy, the NHL then proceeded to have all 32 teams drop their upcoming 2024-25 schedules. It is going to be a long summer, but there is now plenty to look forward to once late September rolls around.

The Colorado Avalanche, along with the rest of the National Hockey League dropped their respective schedules for next season on Tuesday. Let the excitement build.

Here is a look at the 2024-25 Colorado Avalanche schedule.

Talk about creativity. The Avs released their upcoming schedule, and it showcased their fan-favorite mascot, Bernie. They open the regular season with a road game against the Vegas Golden Knights and have their home opener at Ball Arena on October 12 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Central Division saw some blockbuster moves during free agency, with both Chicago and Nashville both vastly improving their squads. They have four matchups against Chicago, starting on October 28th at home. Then, they have four more games against Nashville starting on November 2nd, this time on the road.

The National Hockey League has a new face this upcoming season, with the Arizona Coyotes packing their bags to Utah. The Utah Hockey Club takes its inaugural season into Denver, Colorado for the first time in their second match-up of the season on December 12th.

There will be a nearly two-week break between the February 7th matchup against the Edmonton Oilers and February 22nd, when the Avs return with a road matchup against the Predators. This extended block of time off is due to the Four Nations Face-Off happening this season. This concept of an in-season tournament is a new trend coming to the four major US sports, with the NBA paving the way last season. It will be very interesting to see how this tournament affects the rest of the season.

The Avalanche have a tough schedule ahead of them, with a stacked conference competing against them for a shot at the playoffs. Every single game will be as important as the last, and there will be no room for error.
