Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri has always been at the top of his class. That hasn’t diminished with time.
That’s evident on the ice.
And now, an intriguing fantasy top 10 list places Kadri where he belongs, among the NHL elite.
A list published by NHL Fantasy on September 5 placed Kadri as the ninth-best player over 35 in the NHL. The list, topped by Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby, contains a list of future Hall of Famers.
Following Crosby, Florida Panthers goalie Jacob Markstrom and Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares round out the top three.

Meanwhile, NHL all-time leading goalscorer Alex Ovechkin and Tampa Bay Lightning blueliner John Carlson rank ahead of Kadri. The Avalanche forward, for his part, is part of a veritable who’s who of NHL lore. It’s a testament to the way his career has transitioned from a first-round pick to one of the most respected names in the league.
2026-27 could be another milestone season for Nazem Kadri
Last season, Nazem Kadri had one heck of a milestone season. On November 5, 2025, he played his 1,000th NHL game. The Calgary Flames honored the occasion with plenty of class, acknowledging Kadri’s remarkable journey through pro hockey.
This season, Kadri sits 40 points away from 800 career regular-season points. He’ll enter the season with 323 goals and 437 assists for 760 total points.
Considering how well Kadri has played throughout his career, it should hardly be an issue for him to reach the 800-point plateau.
The 36-year-old also enters the season sitting on 98 power play goals. Reaching 100 career tallies with the man advantage would place him among the 22 active players in that club. The milestone would also put Kadri in a list of 195 NHLers who have accomplished the feat.
That’s a pretty rare accomplishment to be sure.
Some of the names in that club include a laundry list of NHL legends. For instance, Henrik Zetterberg and Connor McDavid have exactly 100 power play goals. If Kadri can join them, it would not be a bad group to be a part of.
Incidentally, Nathan MacKinnon is also on the list, sitting in 145th place. His 113 power play tallies tie him with Mike Bullard and Patrik Elias. One more marker with the man advantage would tie MacKinnon with another Avalanche great, the late Claude Lemieux.
All told, Nazem Kadri could be in store for another milestone season. Of course, the best milestone of all would be to win another Stanley Cup with the burgundy and blue.
