The Colorado Avalanche are a good team. That much has been established this offseason. With minimal turnover, the club should be good in 2026-27.

But just how good?

Well, it seems that the market believes that the Avalanche can go all the way this upcoming season. Oddschecker and its proprietary algorithm have determined that the Avs have the best chance of winning the Stanley Cup this season.

The data shows Colorado has an implied probability of 22.73% of winning the Cup. That’s well over the 16.67% the Vegas Golden Knights have racked up. The Edmonton Oilers round out the top three at 14.29%.

The numbers shouldn’t be surprising, considering just how well the Avalanche have maintained their lineup. Other Central Division rivals like the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild don’t even crack the top five. That’s largely due to the concerning moves they’ve made this offseason.

But when looking at the Eastern Conference, it seems the Avalanche have a pretty good shot of winning their second Cup in five years.

Eastern Conference rivals seem to stack up well against Avalanche

Oddschecker’s data shows the Eastern Conference side of the equation with two major players. First, the Florida Panthers top the East with a 21.74% implied probability. That’s a bit surprising when considering that the team is coming off a playoff miss.

Plus, the Cats have had significant roster turnover, including a complete overhaul in their goaltending tandem.

There’s also the matter of the defending champs, the Carolina Hurricanes. The data shows the Hurricanes have a 19.61% probability of repeating as champs. So, if the data holds up, it looks like the Avalanche, should they make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, could run into one of the Panthers or Hurricanes.

Oh, and there’s also the Tampa Bay Lightning. The numbers show the Bolts with a 13.33% chance of making it all the way. That’s not overly impressive, but certainly enough to keep them in mind.

Overall, it seems like the Avalanche do have a solid chance of going all the way this upcoming season. The numbers and probabilities will change, naturally. But there is plenty of optimism this upcoming season. The Western Conference field doesn’t look as intimidating as it has in other years. That’s why this might just be the best chance Colorado has of breezing through the conference.
