The Colorado Avalanche only have two picks in the 2025 NHL Draft, at least for the time being. So, it makes going through the Avalanche’s picks much quicker than if the club had a full set of picks.

We’re going to analyze the two proposed picks in Corey Pronman’s full 2025 NHL mock draft. Pronman made two interesting prognostications for the Avalanche, holding the 118th and 214th picks.

Let’s jump in.

Colorado Avalanche 2025 NHL mock draft

4th round, 118th overall: Shamar Moses

Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of Shamar Moses. He’s a skilled young man, but completely unbeknownst to the general public.

Moses slides in at 118th overall for the Colorado Avalanche. He’s an 18-year-old right winger playing for the North Bay Battalion of the OHL. Moses is ranked as the 104th North American skater by Central Scouting.

Elite Prospects describes Moses as having “eyes on the back of his head,” allowing him to make plays as defenders attack him. The description paints Moses as a dynamic playmaker at various levels of the ice.

The scouting report from Elite Prospects added:

"On top of never giving away his intentions, he can fire missiles to the top of the net, shield possession on the wall, and push through checks before sending passes to teammates in space."

If Moses can transfer his skills to the NHL, he could be a steal in the 2025 NHL Draft. Moses could slide in a middle-six forward, providing some much-needed offensive depth, potentially growing into a 20-goal scorer, chipping in 40 to 50 points.

At 6’1” and 203 pounds, Moses shows the potential for size as a power forward. If he can grow into his body, Moses’ speed, skills, and size could make a great addition to the Colorado Avalanche.

This season, Moses scored 12 goals and added 36 assists for 48 points in 61 games with Nother Bay. Those numbers make Moses look like more of a pass-first player.

7th round, 214th overall: Joshua Glavin

Joshua Glavin looks like a highly enticing option for the Colorado Avalanche. The 18-year-old blue liner stands at 6’2” and 201 pounds. He’s a left-shot d-man ranked #198th by Central Scouting among North American skaters.

His size makes him an intriguing option as a defensive defenseman. As such, fans shouldn’t expect him to light the scoresheet on fire. Glavin failed to score a goal with the Saginaw Spirit this past season, adding 15 assists in 67 games.

Glavin looks like a solid AHL blue liner. However, he seems like a bit of a longshot to make the NHL at this point. While he’s still 18, he doesn’t project as a full-time NHL blue liner. But then again, the Toronto Maple Leafs found Tomas Kaberle in the 8th round of the 1996 Draft.

So, there’s always a chance that a player like Joshua Glavin could grow into a solid NHL blue liner.
