The Colorado Avalanche recently got Valeri Nichushkin back into the lineup after he missed a month following ankle surgery. Now, it appears the team will get another big player back into the lineup very soon.

Per a video from National Hockey Now, Evan Rodrigues was seen taking the ice on Monday.

Rodrigues injured his ankle against the Vancouver Canucks and has been out ever since the 4-3 loss on November 23rd. On the season (18 games), Rodrigues has nine points (six goals, three assists).

This team needs to get its star players back as soon as humanly possible. Although there is still plenty of time to turn things around, the Colorado Avalanche have been victorious in just one out of their last five games—their only win during that span came on Sunday in an overtime matchup against the St. Louis Blues.

Mikko Rantanen scored all three of the team’s goals. While that is a tremendous accomplishment but The Moose, that sort of thing just isn’t sustainable. The team needs to have more production from all around.

Rodrigues’ production has been up and down this season. Although nine points in 18 games isn’t terrible, he has gone multiple games without a single point three separate times. He didn’t record a single point until the team’s fifth game—against the Seattle Kraken.

The Avalanche got Valeri Nichushkin back recently after he missed a month after ankle surgery. He assisted on one of Rantanen’s goals on Sunday afternoon.

The losses of the team’s star players has been visible this season. Their return needs to happen fast. The Avalanche are currently in third place in their division, behind the Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars. They have 30 points on the season, while the Jets and Stars each have 37.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Avalanche catch up and end up leading the division by the end of the year but their players need to get back to health soon.
