From kids to seniors to Slurpees, Cale Makar and his brother had one of the most humble and wholesome days with the Stanely Cup.

If you need a smile, the day Cale Makar had with the Cup is bound to give you one plus you might even shed a tear or two from all of the wholesomeness. I mean, why’s it so dusty in this office, eh boys? In all seriousness, the Colorado Avalanche’s baby-faced defenseman did have a day off that made all of Calgary proud, and quite possibly all of Canada.

The day started with another meal in the cup as the Makar family all enjoyed gluten-free pancakes that were topped with fruit and of course, Canadian maple syrup. The best part? Cale prepared the pancakes all on his own! Who knew the Norris Trophy winner also knew his way around a griddle?

From there it was off to Cale Makar’s community rink where he took photos with the townsfolk and shared some pretty incredible moments with youth hockey skaters on the ice. (We also got a pretty touching moment of a baby being placed in the Stanley Cup for the most adorable photo op you’ll ever see).

Cale Makar wasn’t the only Avalanche player palling around with the Cup all day though. The Conn Smythe winner’s little brother Taylor joined in on the fun as the two brothers headed to a senior living facility where the boys saw their grandma and other members of the residence. Given that Taylor is starting his professional career with the Avalanche, Cale was very quick to remind him that he’s not allowed to touch the Cup, yet.

After taking Grannie and the Stanley Cup for a ride in a convertible, it was time for a little refreshment. The boys popped champagne with the family and chased that with some ice-cold Slurpees. Cale and Taylor weren’t holding back on the frozen beverages either as they decided to mix all of the flavors together for the ultimate championship brain freeze.

Cale’s day eventually ended with him rejoining his loved ones back at home for a good ole fashioned backyard party. Of all the “days with the Cup” that we’ve seen so far, I’d make the argument that Cale’s takes the cake for most family-friendly.
