The Colorado Avalanche appear to have broken out of their slump. We look back at some of the team’s social media highlights of the week.

It was a fun start to the week on Colorado Avalanche Twitter. The straight arm challenge was back, and this time the players had to juggle without being able to bend their arms. As I’m sure you can imagine some of the players were better at it than others.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare absolutely steals the show with his juggling skills while he jokes that hockey is just a hobby and that he spent his two years in Vegas a part of the Cirque du Soleil.

There are some really great photos to be found on the Avalanche’s Instagram page. This is a fantastic shot.

As I mentioned in last week’s Post to Post I really enjoy the social media content that makes the media team personable and relatable. We all have times where we forget what day of the week it is.

After I joking wondered a while back who the Avs team dad is, the media team have spoken.

Gabriel Landeskog has always been something of a big brother to Mikko Rantanen. Now Mikko is trying to copy his big brother’s puck toss trick.

This year the NHL has introduced a women’s 3 on 3 game to the All-Star Game skills contest. The Avalanche media team was very excited about this, which is fantastic. I love how they do whatever they can to shine a spotlight on girl’s and women’s hockey.

Tyson Jost and Cale Makar visited a school as part of the TeamFIT initiative. This is what happens when a big kid gets to play games with a bunch of little kids.

After Nazem Kadri was invited to make the First Shot for the Denver Nuggets and missed, Tyson and Cale had a thing or two to say about it.

Kadri, of course, responded.

As some of the players modeled the new Stadium Series jerseys, Gabriel Landeskog showed off his skills.

Job done he then set about trying to make Mikko Rantanen laugh, and succeeded.

I love how the media team has little in-jokes. Like when a few weeks ago there was a typo on Gabriel Landeskog’s stats.

It’s nice to see that Valeri Nichushkin and Vladislav Kamenev are such good friends.

It’s always fun when the media team gets the fans involved in their creative decision making. Not sure what the context is but I’m sure we will find out at some point.

The media team is in no way bitter over Cale Makar not getting added to the All-Star roster in favor of yes another St Louis Blues player.

It seems that as well as the #BurkySmirk Andre Burakovsky has also perfected the stare-down.

The Colorado Avalanche have one more game at home before having a couple of weeks off with a break for the All-Star game immediately followed by the team’s bye week. After Monday their next game is on February 1st in Philadelphia.
