The Colorado Avalanche returned to Denver this week and so did Tyson Barrie. We look back at some of the team’s social media highlights.
It’s been a mixed week for the Colorado Avalanche. They finished their five game road trip 3-2-0 before losing to the Toronto Maple Leafs and former teammates Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot at home.
The week started with some more Mile High Dreams Gala fun. This time the players were asked which celebrity would play them in a movie.
Of course we used the Mile High Dreams Gala as a chance to get more fun #content.

This time, Kyle and Lauren asked: if a celebrity played you in a movie, who would it be?#GoAvsGo https://t.co/MrIWblZRHn
Oh, there's more! Because these guys are just too good.
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) November 18, 2019
(Have we mentioned that Gabe is good looking!?)#GoAvsGo https://t.co/nOs1JYeH7G
I love that Mark Barberio won’t even joke about kicking Gabe Landeskog‘s butt for being so good looking. As soon as Kyle Keefe jokingly suggests it Barberio just shuts it down.
Nikita Zadorov, well known for being a menace, was captured frisking Ian Cole during practice.
Quick security check over there?#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/9sZu5nyEJk

Zadorov, who doesn’t often respond to tweets from the media team, insisted it was something a little more romantic.

Team nicknames are always fun and it appears Pierre-Edouard Bellemare has a new one, courtesy of Philipp Grubauer.

Andre Burakovsky took some time at the airport in Minnesota to educate people on the importance of staying hydrated.
“Hydration!”

The nickname is definitely sticking.

Andre Burakovsky’s love of the camera and accompanying smirk now has its own hashtag. This is what I love about the Avalanche’s social media team. They go out of their way to show off the individual personalities of the players, and they have fun with it too.
Burky skates out.

The media team always posts great photos during games and practices, but sometimes it’s fun to see the photos that didn’t turn out so well.

After J.T. Compher tried his hand at portrait photography last week it was time for the media team to get in on the action. I’m sure there will be an exhibit at a gallery at the end of the season.

Probably the most relatable tweet this week was the media team getting distracted by snacks while photographing an interview with Erik Johnson.
Oooooh, snacks??#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/H9LRskF7iI

Nikita Zadorov was back to his menacing ways during J.T. Compher’s warmup interview.

It’s fun that Avs social media knows how excited we all are, and is right there with us.

Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot returned to Denver for the first time since their trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs during the summer. It was almost like they’d never been gone.

Kerfoot and Barrie were even included in the pre-game video as though they were part of the team.

To mark the occasion the media team shared the videos from the Sweet Then Sour series that was recorded before the trade happened.
You know we had to post these for our old friends in town tonight...

Saturday’s game was Hockey Fights Cancer night and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare went all in on his game day suit, wearing a lavender suit to match the color of the Hockey Fights Cancer logo.

I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the house or on social media when Tyson got a standing ovation and a tribute video.
You’ll always have a place in our record books and in our hearts.

Thank you, Tyson Barrie. #GoAvsGo https://t.co/FWykrw1rXk

Alexander Kerfoot got his own tribute as well.

Valeri Nichushkin scored his first goal in 2 years and the media team were just as excited as all the fans.

The Colorado Avalanche have a few days off before taking on the Edmonton Oilers at home on Wednesday. Then, at the end of the week, they have back to back games against the Chicago Blackhawks, one away and then one at home. We’ll be back next week with more social media highlights.
