The Colorado Avalanche family just got bigger and cuter: welcome, baby Landeskog!

Listen: the game on Friday, November 1st wasn’t a favorite for Colorado Avalanche fans, but we do have something to celebrate and be happy for. Our captain Gabriel Landeskog might not come back to the ice as soon as we want, but he’s going to be crazy busy (and drunk in love) as he and his wife, Melissa, welcomed their first child.

The Landeskogs, as private as they have always been, never actually spoke about the pregnancy (in fact, I believe he only casually mentioned it once in an interview), so in a way, the “official” announcement came through a pic of their Halloween costumes – which, in a fun chain of events, was shared the day before baby Landy arrived. Talk about perfect timing, right?

The happy news were brought to us by good old Kyle Keefe, who read a text from Landeskog which said pretty much what every message about a birth usually does: baby is here, mom and baby are fine, mom is a warrior (of course she is!), we’re all very happy. Captain, we are all very happy for you guys too!

Anyone who has been around long enough knows that The Captain is great with kids – just look at him with Mikko, Josty, and now Burakovsky as well. Ok ok, in all seriousness though, Landy has shown how good he is with kids countless times. I’ve been saying for a long while that he’s going to be the best father in the world and it’s finally happening. Let’s face it: having parents like Melissa and Gabriel Landeskog must be pretty fun, and that (obviously beautiful) baby is going to be surrounded by so much love.

Congratulations to the Landeskogs! The Colorado Avalanche family just got even cuter than it already was. Sorry, rest of the teams in the NHL, the Avs family was truly blessed on many levels. Now, if the team can go on a winning streak, that would be extra great!
