The Colorado Eagles have unleashed their new third jersey, which is an homage to their NHL-affiliate Colorado Avalanche.
The Colorado Avalanche’s AHL-affiliate Eagles recently unveiled their new CCM Third Jersey which will be used in ten games this season.
Anyone who knows me is aware that I have a major love of several sporting teams wearing either burgundy or claret, with blue trim. While I’m not here to talk about Aston Villa in the English Soccer world, I am now able to add the Colorado Eagles to the list of Burgundy & Blue teams that I am rooting for.
Yes, the Eagles have launched a third jersey for their second season in the AHL – a nice homage to their parent organisation, of whom they are the self-styled “Proud Affiliate.”
More than a thank you to the Colorado Avalanche organisation, this is also a nice chance for some of the promising youngsters to dream of how they will look skating for the Avalanche in the big show.

This new kit comprises a burgundy sweater, with blue edging and sleeve detail, separated by a thin steel grey line. Shoulder details are made up of the Colorado Avalanche logo and Colorado state flag.
Critics are already saying that the Avalanche home jersey has just been retrofitted with a steel and blue version of the Eagles’ logo, plus different shoulder details. Let’s face it, how can you possibly improve upon the Avalanche home jersey?
You just can’t, right?
Just the thought of some of the younger players donning this jersey makes me want one even more. Now, at this stage of the season, it’s difficult to predict whose name and number would want on such a jersey, but I do quite like Nick Henry (62) or Shane Bowers (14). Perhaps even Adam Werner (35) would be a nice jersey to wear, as he’s likely to stay with the Eagles for a few seasons (I hope).
Next season, the Eagles will take flight in 10 home games wearing their third jersey:
November 16 vs Bakersfield
December 17 vs Manitoba
December 18 vs Manitoba
January 10 vs Tuscon
February 11 vs Tuscon

March 10 vs Texas

April 10 vs San Diego

Sadly, there is still no word on when this jersey will be available in the online store, though. Seriously, guys, just take my money already!
They will need to sell more than a few jerseys to make some capital for funding this new arena that is planned, but that is another story entirely.
