The Colorado Avalanche players took part in the team’s annual Charity Golf Tournament.
The Colorado Avalanche annual Charity Golf Tournament is always a lot of fun for players and fans alike. It’s a chance for fans to see the new roster in a less formal setting ahead of the regular season, and the social media team always go out of their way to show off the more fun side of the players’ personalities.

Captain Gabriel Landeskog was sporting some impressive headwear during the event, so of course the media team had to show it off.

That’s it.

The hat is definitely a fashion statement. What that statement is, I’m not sure, but it’s clearly also practical as he was wearing it while he was playing.
Moving from headwear to footwear Colin Wilson decided to opt for some slightly less conventional golf shoes, preferring comfort over practicality. Still, he seems to be managing okay.

It’s really fun when some of the less well known players get to show off their personalities a little. The look Ryan Graves gives the camera when he watches someone fluff a shot is a thing of beauty. I hope we get to see more content like this from him during the regular season.

This series of photos says everything you need to know about Tyson Jost and J.T. Compher‘s friendship. Jost showing off for the camera while Compher looks on fondly and tries not to laugh. The media team clearly love it because photos of this moment made it onto multiple platforms.

And, even when they’re not eating, the same thing happens. Jost shows off while Compher just looks fond and amused.
You can tell that the media team has a good relationship with the players by the amount of teasing that happens on social media. After the infamous Fan Awards controversy it’s nice to see that Nikita Zadorov is still on the receiving end of some lighthearted ribbing.

Erik Johnson generally pretends to be camera shy when the media team are taking photos at the airport for away games. It’s harder to hide at events like this, which is how these sorts of gems get captured on camera.

Vladislav Kamenev paid homage to Happy Gilmore. As the media team points out, someone had to do it.

Nathan MacKinnon may have a rival for the title of best golfer on the team, and it comes in the form of new acquisition Jayson Megna.

I think it’s safe to say that everyone had fun.

The Colorado Avalanche have two more preseason games to play before the regular season starts on October 3rd.
