Colorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog is performing some of his captaincy duties, specifically as an ambassador to the public, while still in Sweden.

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is in his hometown of Stockholm Sweden. However, that doesn’t stop him from doing publicity — for hockey in general, and a little for the Avs specifically.

Recently, the NHL in Sweden account put out a tweet showing Landeskog and fellow Swede William Karlsson talking seriously about hockey.

Ok, they’re not being at all serious. In fact, they’ve just been asked if they’d rather have ice skates for feet or hockey gloves for hands. Here are their responses:

Shoutout to the major flow action happening.

In fact, this clip reminds me of the funny interview former Av Blake Comeau did with Altitude TV announcer Kyle Keefe. Keefe was asking players what they would change about themselves. Comeau’s response was that he’d want long hair. He specified, “Not like Gabe’s — his is just thick.”

He wanted long, flowing locks. I’m guessing Karlsson has the target hair Blake wanted.

Anyway, after this little clip, Landeskog did a photo shoot. His portraits for the NHL European Media Tour came out quite well:

Now, a fellow Avs fan noticed that Gabe is wearing two watches in the shoot. Another Avs fan remarked that she thought it was a status symbol. What do you think of Landy’s double-fisted watch action?

Also, our cap is one of the most classically handsome men to play the game. Hashtag “no filter.” (OK, I don’t know if the photographer used a filter — probably. But there’s no changing that underlying bone structure.)

Anyway, here’s Landeskog attending a pro camp, I believe still in Sweden. And while he hasn’t quite reincarnated Dramatic Landy just yet, you can see by the third picture he’s gearing up for it:

As we see with Gabriel Landeskog’s own Instagram account, he did take some time out to promote the Colorado Avalanche specifically:

Finally, Landeskog’s publicity isn’t relegated to the European Media Tour alone. In fact, recently the NHL’s official Twitter account released a video of our Colorado Avalanche captain with the famous caption, “O Captain! My Captain!”:

And with good reason. Those are some sick moves from Gabriel Landeskog. For example, his freaking aerial pass to Mikko Rantanen in moment #3 — who even does that? I don’t remember that play from the season, so I’m grateful to the NHL account for putting the clip out there.

Next. Celebrating Landeskog's Captaincy on Twitter. dark

Rookie training camp starts in a couple weeks, and training camp is exactly one month away. Colorado Avalanche players are already securing ice time at the South Suburban practice facility in Centennial.

It shouldn’t be too long before we see our captain, Gabriel Landeskog, on Colorado soil again.
