The Colorado Avalanche wrapped up the year with three different but equally touching videos. A few players also thanked the fans.

The Colorado Avalanche have the best social media team in the NHL — maybe in all of sports. Sure, you could make a case for the Carolina Hurricanes or the LA Kings or the Vegas Golden Knights, now that they’ve got their initial problems sorted out.

However, the Avs social media team is special. I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of them, and they are genuinely nice women. However, what makes them stand out is how they create this feeling of affinity between the fans and the players. They’re also excellent at interacting with the fans.

Well, we’ve spent a lot of time loving on the social media offerings this season. Most notable has been the excellent work by Hils to curate the best of the best in her “Post to Post” series.

Well, I’m not going to curate much right now. Instead, I’m just going to show you the three videos about the Colorado Avalanche that help us say goodbye to the team.

The first one was our Altitude Sports TV crew — Kyle Keefe, John-Michael Liles and Mark Rycroft — giving the final report card of the season. If you’re not familiar with their post-game show, it’s something they did throughout every regular season and playoff game to highlight the best and the worst from the game.

Here’s their final report card:

As they noted, the referees got the call on the ice. I’d like to think that, if they’d dared to grade the Toronto War Room, the grade would have been F———-. But, teams don’t like to criticize the powers that be in case next time they really screw the team over.

I think we all had a wide range of emotions the day after the elimination. We were all so disappointed, and some of us still felt anger, but I think we also felt enormous pride for our team.

Well, the Colorado Avalanche media crew captured that idea in this video:

Slightly lost in all this is the fact that our captain, Gabriel Landeskog, took responsibility for the disallowed goal. I’m not surprised — no whiner is our Gabe. That’s why he’s our captain.

Throughout the year, the Colorado Avalanche released One Second Everyday Videos. They summed up the entire season in a video:

As I said in a previous post, it was a helluva ride.

For some reason, the Colorado Avalanche don’t conduct pressers on locker clean out day like a lot of other teams do. I feel like we go from hearing from the team everyday to… silence.

Well, this year that wasn’t entirely true. Today was locker clean out day, and while the Avs didn’t conduct and interviews, a few took the time to tweet out their thanks to the fans.

First up we have Sven Andrighetto:

He’s not expected to be back with the team next year, so it’s especially kind of him to take the time to tweet to us.

While not technically a tweet since it’s on Instagram, defenseman Sam Girard posted his thanks. His is a protected account, but the picture is this one:

Here is his message: /

"thank you to the fans for the support and always being loud. see you next season! #goavsgo"

Finally, we have our captain of the blueline, Erik Johnson, with the classiest of tweets:

So, I guess we still get some closure.

Next. Johnson's Condor Goal. dark

Well, it’s about  time to start covering the draft and Colorado Avalanche players at Worlds and all kinds of fun stuff. But thanks to the social media team, and the players, for giving us a proper sendoff to the season.
