The Colorado Avalanche are back on the ice after a break. We look at the best social media posts over the past week.

The Colorado Avalanche started their bye week with a montage of some of the best All-Star Weekend moments. You can read our own social media highlights of the event here.

To keep fans amused during the bye week the social media team teased one of their new video features.

The mouthguard challenge is a popular feature that started last season. Some more videos surfaced during bye week and they’re as entertaining as you’d imagine.

Before I became an Avs fan I never imagined I would have strong opinions on the way toilet paper is rolled. By the end of this video I really did.

It’s oddly charming that both Tysons last googled something to do with cooking.

This video has so much to offer but I think Gabriel Landeskog inventing a dish he named Hot Balls is definitely a memory that’s going to linger.

Meanwhile over on Tumblr the media team was making sure everyone had seen this old video of Tyson Jost.

It was really interesting listen to how much of a huge star Gabe is back in Sweden.

It’s always fun to hear from the rookies, especially after scoring their first couple of NHL goals.

Following the announcement that he will be this season’s Hockey Is For Everyone ambassador Colin Wilson took to the ice at a try blind hockey for free clinic. It’s always nice to see a team working to make the sport accessible for everyone and both Colin and the players had some great things to say about this event.

Also doing some community work was Phillip Grubbauer who took to the ice with some local kids to introduce them to skating and hockey.

And, on a more lighthearted note, just before Christmas Kyle Keefe took Gabriel Landeskog, Tyson Barrie and J.T. Compher bowling. It made for some pretty funny moments.

It was good to see Erik Johnson back on the ice after getting injured shortly before the bye week.

The Catchin’ Up With Keefer videos are always fun and this is no exception.

The first game back after the bye week was Colin Wilson’s 600th NHL game.

There were some excellent pregame suits before the game against the Canucks.

Hockey players are well known for having superstitions but the media team have their own rules too. If the Avalanche haven’t allowed any goals we are not allowed to say/tweet the word ‘shutout’ in case it brings bad luck. Similarly if the Avalanche haven’t scored any goals we are encouraged to say it to bring back luck on the opposing team. Sometimes it works!

There was some debate at first over who scored the goal that broke the Canucks shutout but the important thing is a goal happened.
