The Colorado Avalanche are over halfway through their longest road trip this season. We look at some of the best social media posts of the past week.
The Colorado Avalanche campaign to get Gabriel Landeskog added to the All-Star roster continued this week, with some hockey stats to back it up. You can read about the Avalanche All-Star campaign in more detail here.
The campaign spread over to Instagram where, after polling fans on Twitter, the media team posted only Landeskog until the All-Star voting closed.
Good news for fellow Colin Wilson fans when he was at practice in a regular jersey.
The campaign for Landeskog was stepped up a level when they got him to hold a baby.
The Avs started their Canadian road trip looking pretty casual. Tyson Barrie doesn’t look too impressed with the cold either.
And, of course, this was a great excuse to post some more Gabe content for the votes.
There’s a new road trip map showing just how far the team is travelling this time. I really love these graphics, especially for people like me who don’t have the best knowledge of US and Canadian geography.
Ian Cole, it seems, was the brainchild behind the whole #GetGabeIn campain.
And this seemingly innocent comment gave birth to this amazing campaign ad video.
Tyson Barrie evidently decided that using one stick to play hockey wasn’t enough and adopted a new way of playing the game.
Erik Johnson gave a radio interview after practice and it was nice to see him looking relaxed and happy.
I love that these photos of Erik Jonson and Sven Andrighetto‘s sticks gives a perfect illustration of the different in their heights.
After all the jokes about Long Beach Native Matt Nieto the media team decided to extend a similar title to the other Matt on the team.
Erik Johnson decided not to wear a helmet for warm ups in Winnipeg and the result is very intense.
All the hard work campaigning to #GetGabeIn paid off and he was announced as an All-Star when voting closed.
True to their word they had posted nothing but Gabe on Instagram for the duration of the voting period.

After missing several games due to injury Colin Wilson and Mark Barberio were both back in the lineup for the game against the Montreal Canadiens. Unfortunately the game didn’t go our way but I am hopeful that as they settle back into the team things will improve.
All-Star Gabriel Landeskog stood out from the rest in a grey suit amongst a sea of dark colors.
I find the way different players tape their sticks absolutely fascinating so I really enjoyed this video of Sam Girard.
The Avalanche still have two games left to play on their Canadian road trip and we’re all crossing our fingers that things will turn around for them. We’ll be back next week to bring you more social media highlights.
