The Colorado Avalanche are back after a short break for Christmas. We look at the best social media posts over the past week.
While the Colorado Avalanche enjoyed some much needed rest for the holidays their good wishes were sent to us all.
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!#GoAvsGo https://t.co/vHN8EFR0yV

There was no rest for the social media team though, who took to Twitter to congratulate everyone on their Avalanche themed gifts.

As the World Junior Championship started up the Avalanche highlighted their prospects who are taking part in the competition. It’s nice that they also took the time to remind everyone to have fun. These kids (and they are still kids) put a lot of pressure on themselves and each other.
Good luck to our prospects at #WorldJuniors!

But also, most importantly: have fun. #GoAvsGo https://t.co/BHCTPBoyyG
Following on from the Dads Trip a few weeks ago the Avalanche got some stories from Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan Mackinnon‘s dads, including some embarrassing childhood tales.
Who knows Gabe Landeskog and Nate MacKinnon better than their dads?#GoAvsGo https://t.co/7EL7kHs4RW

Mackinnon was named one of the All-Star Captains, which sent waves of excitement through Avalanche social media.
THAT’S OUR GUY!

Ryan Graves made his NHL debut in Arizona and got a shiny Twitter graphic to go with it.
Welcome to the NHL, Ryan Graves!#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/qaOkaL0vld

Something, that seems to be new, is that after the Avs have scored their first goal of the game the Avs Twitter person goes and finds all the correct Twitter Psychic guesses and congratulates them for getting it right. I absolutely love this. The whole Twitter Psychic thing is a fan invention in the first place but the official social media has fully embraced it and plays along every game. Going that step further to congratulate the winners is just lovely. I’m sure it makes people’s nights, too.
You guessed it!

I can’t stop watching Alexander Kerfoot in the background of this video. He pulls some great faces.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Patrik Nemeth stare down so I was glad to see that it’s back.
The Nemo Stare™️ is locked in. Let’s do this.#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/fKF6Q4sc29

Ian Cole opted for a more winter casual look prior to Friday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. It works for him.
Gabriel Landeskog really does look good in the third jersey.
Tyson Barrie has now set the franchise record for the most number of assists by a defenseman.
HISTORY.

Congrats, Tyson Barrie!#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/0ERL31XqMi
208 career assists, the most ever by an Avs defenseman.

It’s been a pleasure to watch, Tyson Barrie!#GoAvsGo https://t.co/U10rorO3Js
