Colorado Avalanche Post to Post: Best Regular Season Week 4 Social Media
The Colorado Avalanche concluded their four game road trip with a win in Philadelphia, returning home with seven of a possible eight points. We look back at their social media posts over the past week.
As the Colorado Avalanche got ready for the final game of their road trip there were some interesting stats on the NHL app.
Marko Daňo joined the team on the ice after being picked up from waivers a few days previously. He quickly settled in with the team at his first practice.
I know I talk about travel suits a lot in these posts but I think attention also needs to be paid to game day interview suits as well. Mikko Rantanen is looking fine in the gray suit and pink shirt combo.
It’s always fun when fans get creative with their signs for games. It’s even more fun when fans get creative with their signs for road games.
The Gritty puns made a comeback and it was beautiful, especially when they’re because of Avalanche goals.
The Avalanche continue their excellent new style of graphics with a little bit of history making.
Fun facts are always fun. Seriously, this is kind of mind blowing.
It’s not often that mistakes are made on the Avalanche Twitter and luckily this one was caught early and corrected.
This graphic is a nice summary of what happened on the road trip. I really love these.
The Avalanche Twitter brought a little bit of sass when the team’s top line became the hot topic of conversation this week. Honestly, they deserve to have a little bit of ‘I told you so’.
The media team have been putting together little info graphics for the home games too.
Tyson Jost is rocking the blue shirt and pink tie, and looking pretty calm after his near door experience.
It’s so nice to see that the Avalanche players are still in touch with the kids that they met at the charity brunch last season. The warmth of this hug will keep me going for days.
Sometimes a player’s face just speaks to you on an emotional level.
On Thursday the Colorado Avalanche held their annual Meet The Team Party for Season Ticket Members. Even for those who aren’t able to attend it’s fun to see the players relaxing and enjoying themselves off the ice.

It seems that Ian Cole has joined the ranks of team members who like to fire objects at the social media team.
Sam Girard has really come out his shell this season. From his appearance on last week’s podcast to showing off his singing skills in front of everyone.
This tweet stood out for me, because as much as I love that the social media team features the players that the fans want to see I also really love that they respect that not all players want to be in the spotlight all the time.
Matt Duchene made his first appearance in Colorado since being traded to the Ottawa Senators last season. Whether the team should show a tribute video to him proved to be a controversial subject matter. Although Duchene was a key part of the Colorado Avalanche franchise for several years, his relationship with the team soured when he requested a trade and a lot of fans felt betrayed by his request to leave. The team, however, chose to recognise the important part Duchene played while he was with the organisation.
Gabriel Landeskog continued his scoring streak and celebrated so hard he fell over.
For the final game of the week against the Minnesota Wild we have a selection of suits:
Nothing especially bold or noteworthy but it deserves a mention for capturing so many suits in one photo.
There aren’t any game for most of the coming week, with the first one being on Thursday. These gaps in play are when the social media team get a little more creative with their content. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out.
