As the Coloroado Avalanche embark on their second road trip of the season we look at some of their best social media posts over the past week.
With the conclusion of their first Colorado Girls Hockey Night it was nice to see the Colorado Avalanche continue to celebrate women’s sport.

The road trip means we were treated to an array of suit photos. I’m particularly enjoying Matt Calvert rocking the sweater vest.

And Vladislav Kamenev was looking good in his suit and glasses.

The Avs are continuing with their great road trip graphics so you can see where they were headed for the next few games.

I really love how much mileage the media team is getting from the mouthguard challenge. It’s looking like it’s going to be a regular feature, at least for a while.

It's Mouthguard Challenge Monday... #GoAvsGo https://t.co/jJ9EH56JaB
What I really like about the Avs social media is that they not only help us to get to know a little more about the players, but the media team too. This week they featured new radio announcer Conor McGahey.

While Gabriel Landeskog takes his duties as team captain seriously, he likes to have fun with the team too and it’s little moments like this that gives the team social media a more personable feel.

It’s also fun to see some of the behind the scenes shots of the team features being filmed. Evidently Philipp Grubauer feels the same way.

And you can see Grubauer’s cameo in Kyle Keefe’s video here.

It’s not often that I’m able to capture Snapchat posts for this feature, but occasionally something is posted that’s so fun it makes its way onto other platforms.
One of the things I love about the Avs Twitter account is they report on the games, but they have fun with it at the same time. It was one of the reasons I started following them in the first place.

This is just a great photo, and the caption made me laugh.

It’s nice to get little glimpses into the off ice friendships and this little snippet of Colin Wilson talking about spending time with Tyson Barrie honestly surprised me. Tyson’s friendship with Nathan Mackinnon is so well know they have their own #BestFriends hashtag. Wilson has always struck me as the more quiet, intellectual type whereas Tyson plays up to the camera and has no qualms about looking silly. It’s nice that these two seemingly opposite personality types spend time together.

As well as focusing on the Avalanche themselves, and their AHL affiliate the Eagles the Avs social media team also like to report on how their prospects are doing. There’s been a lot of interest in Cale Makar after a stellar performance at World Juniors this year. After declining the opportunity to participate in the Olympics and choosing to spend another year in college Makar found himself on the receiving end of some criticism from some Avs fans. He’s doing well in college though, and came away from the UMass season opener with 4 points to his name.
Cale Makar is killin’ it.#GoAvsGo https://t.co/bJIoGlF84x

He’s also made some friends.

It’s fun when the personality of the social media person shines through in their tweets. This is a prime example.

Philipp Grubauer isn’t the only player who likes to see what’s going on when a video interview is being filmed. Grubauer was at least fully clothed when he did it.

Colin Wilson was looking sharp in a burgundy suit on game day in North Carolina.

Sam Girard joined Marc Moser and Kyle Keefe for this week’s Avs in Your Earholes podcast. This is the first time a player has joined the podcast team and it was great to get to know him a little more. Hopefully there will be other player guest spots now and again in the future.

And for those who were wondering what Sam looked like while he was giggling at the video of Moser getting trapped in a revolving door we have behind the scenes video of the moment.

After a win in Carolina the Avs are now in Philadelphia ready for the final game of this road trip.
We’ll be back to look at the social media for that game and the rest of next week.
