The Colorado Avalanche broadcasting team at Altitude went through a shift over the summer. Radio host Marc Moser took over as play-by-play announcer, while Conor McGahey is the new radio host.

To be honest, as a Colorado Avalanche fan, I was not sure how to feel about not listening to Marc Moser on the radio anymore. I think he will be great on TV, but when I am at work and unable to watch Avalanche games, Moser was so entertaining.

The other night I was listening to Conor McGahey call the game against the Vegas Golden Knights. No Moser, which was weird. But then, those are a very large set of shoes to fill.

Now Conor does get just as excited as Moser does. I have really enjoyed listening to him so far. He yells just like Moser does and says some off the wall things. He really knows hockey and is passionate about it.

Conor used to work for the Colorado Avalanche . Last season, he got a job with Vegas as the pregame, intermission, and postgame host for the Knights. Thank goodness he wanted to come back with Colorado. Conor has a great hockey mind and a great voice for radio.

Just don’t forget Avs fans when you go to listen to the radio for games it will be a different face.

As I said, Moser is going to be staying with the Avalanche as well, but is moving to the television side of things. He’s taking over where Mike Haynes left off — Haynes has left the Altitude Network.

Moser is very well known for his calls and for his excitement. I will say I am sad we don’t get to hear Peter McNab say “Now Michael” anymore. It was one of my favorite things to hear. That said, it’s well-known McNab has been known to slip up, though not as entertainingly as Kyle Keefe’s “Penis McNab” gaffe.

Moser might make games a little too exciting for TV and I really might start having a heart attack or throwing things during games. But I am so excited to see what Moser turns watching television into. He and McNab have done things together before so they do know each other and already have a relationship/chemisty.
