Colorado Avalanche forward prospect Brandon Saigeon, whom the team drafted this year in the fifth round, has been dominant since returning to his OHL team.
Colorado Avalanche prospect Brandon Saigeon was dominant in his opening night game with the Hamilton Bulldogs. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs lost, but it wasn’t from lack of effort on Saigeon’s part.
His first point came in the first five minutes of the game. He made an accurate backhand pass to set up his teammate for the Bulldog’s first goal of the night.

That tally put Hamilton up 1-0.
Brandon Saigeon got into the scoring groove himself a little later.
Saigeon's second point of the night this one a PP goal...#ShouldaSignedSaigeonhttps://t.co/qChMeEvoY3

What a laser of a shot. I had started noticing in camp that Saigeon had good hands — I wasn’t wrong.
Unfortunately, North Bay Batallion was proving relentless. Midway through the third period, they were up 4-2. Well, that’s when Saigeon struck again:
We're getting silly now, Saigeon single-handedly keeping Hamilton in this one. His 2nd goal and 3rd point of the night.#ShouldaSignedSaigeonhttps://t.co/Gz6btaMn2J

That’s another pretty wrist shot by the Colorado Avalanche prospect.
Cursed Batallion, they just would not die. With just over two minutes left in the third period, they were up 6-3. However, Saigeon passed to Nicolas Mattinen, who went on to score. The goal made it 6-4 with 2:06 left in the period.
Apparently I couldn't even keep up Saigeon has now been credited an additional assist on Mattinen's goal making it a 5 POINT night for him. OK Saigeon rant is over now I promise.

The Bulldogs didn’t have any quit in them either.:
And just because why not Saigeon wins a faceoff that Kaliyev finishes. Not sure if he will get credited with the assist but if he does it would be a 4 point night for himhttps://t.co/QTUc1WpeQi

He was, indeed, credited with the assist.
So, essentially, Saigeon had a hand in all of the Bulldog’s goals:

And he deservedly earned a star of the night, even though the Bulldogs lost:

The next night, the Hamilton Bulldogs traveled to Barrie to face the Colts. Saigeon recorded two assists on the night. The first came on the Bulldogs’ third goal of the night:

Brandon also recorded an assist on the empty-net goal that sealed the win for Hamilton:

Not long after that second goal, Bulldogs coach Dave Matsos collapsed on the bench. He revived, but he was taken to the hospital for testing. According to the Hamilton Bulldogs, he’s “resting comfortably” and “in good spirits.” We’re all thankful for that.
In any case, the Colorado Avalanche prospect currently has more points than the entire team combined. I know they’re playing in different circumstances, but… why did we cut Brandon Saigeon again?
