Colorado Avalanche: Best Goals vs. Minnesota 2017-2018
Zadorov’s Game-Winning One-Timer
The March 13, 2018 game was the final meeting of the series for the two teams. Like I said before, this 2017-18 series was already proving cathartic.
The catharsis continued with this last game, which the Colorado Avalanche won 5-1. And it was Nikita Zadorov who scored the game winner. The goal came with just over five minutes left in the second period with the score tied 1-1.
Carl Soderberg fights for possession in the Minnesota end. He gets the puck to linemate Blake Comeau, who passes it to a Zadorov jumping into the play.
Zadorov takes one long stride and drops to his knee. He releases a one-timer that flies past Devan Dubnyk, hits a post and ricochets into the net:
The Avalanche were actually playing 4-on-4 hockey. Both Nate Prosser and Gabriel Landeskog were in the penalty boxes for roughing — this was the scene in which
to “go back on waivers.” Normally our cap for waivers-boy wouldn’t be a good tradeoff, but Zadorov made it work.
