NHL free agency target #1: D Andrej Sekera

Where he is right now: Andrej Sekera has played for three different teams in the past three seasons. His last stop was Los Angeles, where he was traded at the deadline, to help the Kings reach the playoffs. He obviously failed doing that. Nevertheless, he is a skilled defenseman that can quarterback the powerplay and contribute offensively, while generally doing a solid job in the back-end.
Why the Colorado Avalanche should sign him: Just like Christian Ehrhoff, Sekera would be an option to partner Erik Johnson. He had a career year in 2013-14, when he recorded 44 points in 74 games and while that should not be expected from him again, he can still be a really solid contributor offensively. Similar to Ehrhoff in skill and style, Sekera would be the slightly younger version without the injury risk and is therefore still my No. 1 target.
