The Avalanche saw their six-game winning streak snapped in a 7-5 loss to the Devils, but now hope to return to the win column in a matchup with the Stars this afternoon. Colorado has a pair of wins over Dallas already this season, and the Stars are just 3-6 over their last nine games.
I think the Avalanche are in for a dominant performance and will explain why below, though let’s first get you set up for a MASSIVE payday thanks to Caesars Sportsbook’s special promo: bet insurance of up to $1,250! You can bet on anything you’d like and get refunded in bonus bets if you lose!

Bold Predictions for Avalanche vs Stars
The Avalanche Win By Multiple Goals
Colorado is on a roll right now, winning four of its last six games by at least three goals. During their last seven contests, the Avalanche averaged a whopping 4.29 goals per game. That would handily lead the NHL over the course of the season.
The Avalanche’s offensive dominance gives them an edge over the Stars, who averaged only 2.67 goals per game during this 3-6 stretch.
Dallas struggles in these spots too, winning just once in its last six games as a home underdog. In those games, the Stars scored just 11 goals total. That’s bad news against a Colorado defense that surrendered only five goals total in its last four as a road favorite.
Take the Avalanche to pick up a fifth win by multiple goals in its last seven games.
Mikko Rantanen Scores
Rantanen has a goal in six consecutive games with at least three shots in each one. He’s on fire and I’m not jumping off a speeding train now.
In those two games against Dallas this year, Rantanen had an assist in each but hasn’t scored yet. I think he changes that today as a focal point of Colorado’s attack.
If the Avalanche’s offense stays hot, Rantanen will be a big reason why.
