Colorado Avalanche: December Games to Watch

The Colorado Avalanche have been fighting the injury bug all season, yet due to their strong depth they have been able to keep pace in the Western Conference standings. Hopefully December is the month we get to see this team at full strength!

With that being said, let’s get on to the must see games of December.

12/4 @ Toronto Maple Leafs

How about Nazim Kadri returns the favor to Toronto in Toronto after Tyson Barrie and company came into Denver and stole a W. Toronto has been excellent since firing Mike Babcock, so let’s have Naz and hopefully Mikko Rantanen lead us to a victory in Toronto.

12/5 @ Montreal Canadiens

There aren’t 2 harder places to play back to back nights in than Toronto and Montreal. The Avs have to do so, but it’s always a nostalgic game any time we play the winningest NHL franchise, albeit they won 22 out of their 24 cups before 1980. It will be interesting to see how the Avs respond playing back to back nights for the second time in a week, after they play Chicago 11/29-30.

12/16 @ St. Louis Blues

Here lies another opportunity for the Avs to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Hopefully we will have the majority of our team back at this point as Mikko Rantanen will be back by then, and Gabriel Landeskog would be pretty close, it would be great to see how we match up on the road.

12/23 @ Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas is once again a strong team, but this would be the perfect time to take a flight over from Denver to Vegas to see a hockey game. Consider it a Christmas present for yourself. Vegas is the best place to watch a hockey game in my opinion besides the Pepsi Center of course. The arena is fun and the game features two of the best teams in the league. Or you can always watch the Avalanche win from your couch too. No pressure.

12/31 Vs. Winnipeg Jets

New Years Eve. Central Division Rivalry Game. Rocking the Can. Three perfect reasons to attend this New Years Eve game featuring two of the top teams in the Central Division. Now you have something to do before your big New Years Eve party!
