C.J. Jarecki

The frozen pond, the frigid winter mornings, the sound of the blades shredding through the ice… I was 6 years old when I first strapped on a set of blades, and took to the lake ice in Evergreen, Colorado. Ever since, I’ve had a sort of love affair with the sport of hockey. In the late 70’s and early 80’s I was trying my best to emulate the likes of Joel Quinville, Mike Kitchen, and Lanny MacDonald, because the Colorado Rockies were my home team. I loved sitting on the glass at “Rockies Hockey” games, even though the team was horrible. Fast forward to today – the Rockies are the Devils, there’s a baseball team named the Rockies (a travesty in my book), and Colorado has the Avalanche. It fits.
