About

Jake Bennett, Lead Blogger. When the Quebec Nordiques moved to Colorado in 1995 and became the Avalanche, Jake was eight years old. His father, an avid hockey fan, was ecstatic. He took Jake to his first live hockey game at the old McNichols arena to see Joe Sakic lead the Avs against Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since that night, he’s been a full-blown Avaholic. Jake has followed the Avs through the Golden Age, being graced by such hall-of-fame talent as Patrick Roy, Peter Forsberg, and Joe Sakic. Now that these players have moved on, Jake is excited to join other Avs fans as they embark on the unfamiliar journey of the first ever Colorado Avalanche rebuild.

Jake Bennett is currently attending the University of Colorado. His plan is to graduate and go on to become a sports writer. While he enjoys just about all sports, it would be a dream fulfilled to cover an NHL team on a beat. What Jake is looking for with Mile High Sticking is to interact with other fans of the game. He wants to bring a professional style, but also a unique perspective that you won’t find in the daily newspaper. He also welcomes any and all questions or suggestions.

To reach him, his email address is j.bennett87@hotmail.com
