The Colorado Avalanche have a good prospect in forward Reid Petryk, who looks to make an impact in 2017-18.

The Colorado Avalanche, like any NHL team, needs decent prospects to make them competitive. Reid Petryk is a center/right wing whom the Avalanche signed last summer. He played with the San Antonio Rampage last season.

In 45 games during the 2016-17 season, he had 10 goals and 5 assists. For a while now he has been a top prospect.

Colorado can use as much help as they can get. Yes he may not be up with the team right away, but he may get his chance. He just needs to show the coaching staff what he has to offer.

Petryk spent the last few years in the AHL. But that may be because they were trying to develop his skills for the AHL level. Though Petryk does not have stellar stats, he does have the talent. He can help the Avalanche on the third and fourth lines.

As camp continues look for Petryk to battle for a spot. He is a strong, tough player who skates well and provides some speed. Also he can provide on offense. These are all things the Colorado Avalanche need.

Petrtk is known for his hard work ethic and the determination to win. Right now this team needs some fresh faces with that kind of character.

Petryk has had success in the minors and junior leagues. His ability to control the puck and score goals would be advantages for Colorado’s lower lines. He can help with the puck control problem they’ve been having lately.

This player has been on their radar for a while and they seem to be ready to see what they have with the young players. Avalanche fans will get a good look at him in camp and preseason. There will be a lot of tough competition for roster spots, though.
