Tyson Barrie - How Much Is He Worth (Poll Results)

Last week we asked “How Much is Tyson Barrie Worth?” in our weekly Colorado Avalanche poll. Well, the results are in and it looks like Avs fans want Barrie to get paid as 57% believe that Barrie should get a long term contract that pays him between $3.25 and $4 million per season. Perhaps fans were swayed by Austin Manak’s piece that implored that Avs to lock up Barrie for the foreseeable future.

32% of fans believe that Barrie should get a short term contract between $2 and $2.5 million, which was my vote as well, while %6 of fans voted for Barrie to receive a short term deal between $1.25 and $1.5 million.

Nadia Archuleta was in the minority and let her opinion be known, laying out five reasons why the Avs won’t sign Barrie to a long term contract.

Barrie is currently a restricted free agent coming off a 38 point season. The 23-year old won over fans with his stellar offensive play and knack for scoring clutch goals. Whether it’s a short term deal or a long term deal, Avalanche fans can only hope that Tyson Barrie gets signed soon and is ready to go at the start of training camp.

Also, make sure to vote in our latest Avalanche Poll as we ask; who is the biggest Central Division threat?
