Jeff Carter started the third period scoring on the power play just 1:37 into the period and then added two late goals, the last one into an empty net, to complete the hat trick. Jake Muzzin scored the game winning goal for the Kings, also on the power play. Jonathan Quick made 23 saves in victory while Corey Crawford had 25 saves in defeat. The Blackhawks went 1 for 4 on the power play and failed to cash in on a 5-on-3 advantage in the first period. Game three is Saturday night in Los Angeles.
