NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Daily Recap: Habs Advance, Kings Stay Alive

Last night in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins met in a game seven while the Los Angeles Kings looked to avoid elimination against the Anaheim Ducks.

Montreal Canadiens – 3 Boston Bruins – 1 (Canadiens win series 4-3)

*Carey Price made 29 saves and the Canadiens got goals from Dale Weise, Max Pacioretty, and Daniel Briere to oust the Bruins in Boston. The Canadiens only managed 18 shots on goal, but three got by Tuukka Rask. The Canadiens are now 25-9 all-time against the Bruins in playoff series and advance to their first NHL Eastern Conference Finals since 2010.

Anaheim Ducks – 1 Los Angeles Kings – 2 (Series tied 3-3)

*The Kings remained perfect (5-0) in elimination games this NHL postseason thanks to goals by Jake Muzzin and Trevor Lewis along with 21 saves from Jonathan Quick. John Gibson made 21 saves in defeat while Kyle Palmieri scored the only goal for the Ducks. Game seven is in Anaheim on Friday.
