Last night in NHL Stanley Cup playoff action, the Rangers tried to stave off elimination while the Wild looked to even their series against the Blackhawks.
New York Rangers – 5 Pittsburgh Penguins – 1 (Penguins lead series 3-2)
*Derick Brassard scored 2 goals and Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves as the Rangers handed the Penguins their first regulation loss of the playoffs and, more importantly, kept their Stanley Cup hopes alive. Mats Zuccarello added three assists for the Rangers while Evengi Malkin scored the only goal for Pittsburgh.
Chicago Blackhawks – 2 Minnesota Wild – 4 (Series tied 2-2)
*Jared Spurgeon scored a goal and picked up an assist while Ilya Bryzgalov made 18 saves as the Wild evened their series with the Blackhawks. With the victory, Minnesota stayed perfect at home in the playoffs with five wins and no losses. Marian Hossa had two assists in the loss while Matt Cooke, returning from his seven game suspension, had an assist as well.
