NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Daily Recap: 5/4

The final series of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs second round kicked off yesterday and we had our first game two of the round as well.

Montreal Canadiens – 3 Boston Bruins – 5 (Series tied 1-1)

*The Canadiens held a 3-1 lead with 10 minutes left and then the Bruins exploded with four straight goals from Dougie Hamilton, Patrice Begeron, Reilly Smith, and Milan Lucic to even the series. Thomas Vanek scored two goals for the Habs, both on the power play in defeat.

Los Angeles Kings – 3 Anaheim Ducks – 2 (Kings lead series 1-0)

*Marian Gaborik scored the game tying goal with seven seconds left in regulation to force overtime and then scored the game winning goal 12:07 in OT to give the Kings the win in Anaheim and extend their winning streak to four games. Jonathan Quick made 33 saves in the victory.
