Yesterday’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Action:

Pittsburgh Penguins – 4 Columbus Blue Jackets – 3 (Penguins win series 4-2)

*The Penguins eliminated the Blue Jackets last night thanks to Evgeni Malkin‘s hat trick. The Pens took a 4-0 lead into the third before the Jackets made things interesting with three goals in the period. They couldn’t quite complete the comeback though and saw their playoff run come to an end. Sidney Crosby finished the series with no goals and six assists.

Colorado Avalanche – 2 Minnesota Wild – 5 (Series tied 3-3)

*Zach Parise scored two goals, including the game winner late in the third, to help the Wild force a game seven on Wednesday.

San Jose Sharks – 1 Los Angeles Sharks – 4 (Series tied 3-3)

*Justin Williams and the Kings got away with what should’ve been an illegal goal to break a 1-1 tie and then the Kings added two more goals in the third to force a game seven. The Sharks led this series 3-0.
