Yesterday’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Action:
New York Rangers – 4 Philadelphia Flyers – 2 (Rangers lead series 3-2)
Chicago Blackhawks – 5 St. Louis Blues – 1 (Blackhawks win series 4-2)
*This game was tied at one heading into the third, then the floodgates opened for the Blackhawks, starting with a Jonathan Toews goal just three minutes in. The Blues acquired Ryan Miller for their playoff run and he turned in an average series and left the Blues with a lot of questions moving forward. They had a huge lead in the division before blowing it and led this series 2-0. The Blackhawks once again proved why they are the defending Cup champions.
Anaheim Ducks – 5 Dallas Stars – 4 (OT) (Ducks win series 4-2)
*The Stars led this game 4-2 with three minutes to go. Then it all went downhill. Nick Bonino and Devante Smith-Pelly scored to force overtime and then Bonino ended the game and the series just 2:47 into OT. It had to be heartbreaking for Dallas, who chased Fredrik Andersen with four goals on 12 shots and were minutes away from heading back to Anaheim for game seven. The top seeded Ducks showed their scoring depth in this game and why they won the Western Conference.
