Bad news for the Colorado Avalanche as center Matt Duchene will miss about four weeks with a knee injury that he suffered when he collided with teammate Jamie McGinn during Saturday’s game against the San Jose Sharks.
The four week timetable means that Duchene will miss the start of the playoffs and possibly the entire first round.
Centering the Avs top line, Duchene leads the team in points with 70 and assists with 47. He also has 23 goals on the year. Duchene was on a roll in March, racking up 17 points in 14 games and nearly cracking the NHL top 10 in points.
Best wishes to Matt Duchene in a speedy recovery.
