Injuries Piling Up For Avalanche

Things aren’t exactly sunshine and flowers in the land of the Avalanche right now.

Yes, the Avalanche are still in a fantastic position with 28 points so far and are a short winning-streak away from reclaiming the lead for the Central Division. But staring down a three-game losing-streak and a visit from the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night, it doesn’t look great right now.

The team recently received word that they will be without winger Alex Tanguay indefinitely due to a knee injury that has kept him out more than a week. Joining him is defenseman Ryan Wilson, who was placed on injured reserve on November the 7th with a back injury.

On top of all of this is the fact that star center Matt Duchene will likely miss this game and possibly one or two more with what seems to be an oblique strain. They don’t think it will keep him out more than a week, but a reeling team like the Avalanche needs all the help it can get against a team like Chicago.

Patrick Roy will need to rally his troops and get maximum effort out of those in the lineup if they want to win Tuesday night and keep things afloat until Duchene returns to bolster the team.
