Colorado Avalanche End Chicago Blackhawks Historic Point Streak

The bigger they are, the harder they usually fall.  The Chicago Blackhawks historic start to the 2012-2013 regular season has come to an end, at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche.  For Chicag0 – they went the entire first half of the season, from game one to game twenty four picking up a point in the standings.  Their 24 game run has given them 45 points – and an eight point lead over the nearest team – the Anaheim Ducks.  The Eastern Conference has a long way to go – it seems as if the Presidents Trophy will be won in the West this season. Everyone knew the streak had to come to an end; but who knew it would happen against the Colorado Avalanche.  Colorado sits just two points on top of the Florida Panthers  for the worst record in the National Hockey League.  They are a -8 goal differential, allowing their oppoinents to score 67 times to their 59.  A major contrast to the 80 goals for and 52 against that the Chicago Blackhawks boast.  The Avalanche were able to pour 6 goals on the ‘Hawks – while only allowing two.
