Avs getting Bigger and Grittier.

With the Addition on McGinn, the Avs get another Big, gritty player that we hope will make the same kind if impact on the team that Steve Downie has made in his first three games as an Av. Jamie is 6’1″ and 210 lbs and only 23 years old, which continues to make the Avs the youngest team in the NHL.

Im not to sure about Mike Connolly 22, he has 30 points (10 goals, 20 Assist’s) in the Shark Minor league team.

Michael Sgarbossa 19, seems to be the big prize in this trade, As Sgarbossa is 2nd in the OHL with points with 84 points (41 goals, 43 Assist’s). Yes you read that correctly. So hopefully he keeps that pace going when he joins the Lake Erie Monsters or maybe even the Avs our of Camp next season. I would say he will be staying at his junior club the Sudbury wolves for the remainder of this season.

Greg Sherman believes that Jamie McGinn will have an immediate impact on the Avs team. And i believe that he did what he set out to do in making the Avs a tougher team to play against.

Lets hope So .

McGinn will not be in the lineup tonight against the Ducks, But we are getting back Peter Mueller and Milan Hejduk back in the Lineup tonight.

All in all, Winnik was expendable because they didn’t want to watch him just walk in the summer as a UFA without getting anything for him. I believe our PK just took a punch in the face though without him, but we will see. As for Galiardi, i think he impressed the Sharks organization a few seasons ago when the Avs were in the 1st round of the playoffs against the Sharks. He was and is a great Agitator and has good speed, and can put some points up.

I wish both Winnik and Galiardi great success in San Jose.

What do you think of the trade. Let me know on Twitter @mercus24
