One piece the Avs might be looking to move is defense-man Kyle Quincey, as he is most likely the defense-man that teams may be looing at to improve their club.
Avs Have tons of defense-man on the roster and coming up through the system. With the likes of Tyson Barrie, Cameron Guance and Duncan Siemens going to be looking for roster spots on the Avs and the Lake Erie monsters. With prospects like these ,the team will be looking to move players to make room.
Quincey is an RFA at the end of the season, but the management may see moving him as an opportunity to maybe get back into the 2nd round of the 2012 draft.
Right now the Avs have 8 d-men available to them to mix and match with for different games. With Jan Hejda and Ryan O’Byrne and the rookie Stefan Elliot all signed for at least another year, that leaves, Matt Hunwick, and Shane O’Brien as UFA’s this summer and Quincey, Johnson and Wilson as RFA’s.
The players the Avs should look at keeping are, Erik Johnson, Ryan Wilson and Shane O’Brien.
Kyle Quincey is a decent Defense-man, but one thing that bugs me him is his time in the penalty box. He does however have 4 goals and 18 assists so far this season in 45 games played. So that may be something that attracts suitors for the 26 year old d-man.
