At Thursday’s 2012 All-Star Fantasy Draft, lone Colorado Avalanche representative Gabriel Landeskog was picked by captain Zdeno Chara and will don the blue jersey in Saturday’s Skills Competition.
Landeskog sits at number four on the Avalanche roster in points. His 10 goals and 16 assists through 51 games earned him a trip to Ottawa to participate in the annual Molson Canadian NHL All-Star Skills Competition. Landy will participate in Group 1 of the Skills Challenge Relay in which he will show off his stick handling skills.
Landeskog, along with the eleven other rookies, will only participate in the Skills Competition in Ottawa. Even though Landeskog will not play in the actual All-Star Game this year, he definitely has the potential to become one of the perennial powerhouses at the annual gathering of the best NHL players.
Landeskog’s uncanny sense to jump into the play and his unrivaled vision of the ice will only get better as time goes on. His selection to the All-Star Weekend just goes to show that Landy will definitely be a force to be reckoned with.
