RIP Lokomotiv Yaroslavl

By now everyone has heard about the tragic events that took place yesterday, in Russia, as a plane crashed taking away 43 lives. Adding on to the worst ever offseason in NHL history, as the lives of three popular enforcers were lost, the KHL team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, home to many ex-NHLers, was on board. The Avalanche family lost Ruslan Salei and Karlis Skrastins who were both on the plane. We pray for all the lives lost whether an ex-NHL player, KHL player, coach, or crew member, each of those lives were priceless and we now pray for their families who have to deal with this dreadful tragedy.

We remember Lokomotiv. RIP.

I also would like to post a heart wrenching but excellent post rightfully titled Reality Check.

For updates on yesterday’s accident who can check out the twitter feed of Dmitry Chesnokov, who did a fantastic job discussing the horrible events, which took place in his home country.

Our own Monica McAlister has her own live update going on Octopus Thrower.

Last but not least the FanSided community will be holding a moment of silence tomorrow morning on twitter. Details will follow on my Twitter account @SCrociata.
